Roofing issues don’t always make themselves obvious, so we here at Integrity Homes & Construction Inc. have a few subtle signs of roofing problems for you to watch out for.

1.  Removed satellites or antennas- “Didn’t this house have a satellite dish?” If you ask yourself this question upon moving in or have a neighbor ask you this, you need to have your roofing checked as soon as possible. The holes that are left behind when someone drills into the roof for an antennae or satellite are rarely even filled upon removal, leaving easy access for moisture to enter.

2.  Issues with shingle appearance- Are your shingles looking a little wavy? Curled around the edges? Balding? Do they look wet long after the rain has dried up? These are all small changes in your shingles that can indicate issues with those shingles and your roofing as a whole.

3.  Moisture buildup where roof meets other materials- If your wood or flashing looks swollen or rusty where the roof meets your other materials, you might have some issues with your roofing that should be checked by professionals.

4.  Water spots on interior ceilings- Water leaks through your roof don’t need to be dripping to cause problems. Small leaks can cause issues with mold growth and other problems from small leaks in the roofing.
